The 2013 Elbeuf Work Experience Trip was a resounding success with all participants representing the school excellently whilst abroad. Students delivered English language lessons to primary school students, spent time in the local secondary school (Lycée André Maurois) on Saturday morning, and settled into life with their French families. The last day consisted of a trip to Paris where Monet was viewed, la Seine was sailed and the Eiffel Tower was climbed. Not bad for a day trip! The weather held out too. Lucky given the snow and rain that had fallen the previous week. Well done to all participants for doing us proud. (The staff too had their work cut out as they spent the week driving around the French countryside visiting students. A sat nav came in very handy!) Miss Hardman, Miss Figueira and Jessica Paboudjian.

British Airways Language Flag Award Winners
Weald of Kent has been nationally recognised as the winner
of the most outstanding British Airways Language Flag Award School of 2012. The
current Year 10 students have collectively achieved the most passes in the UK (136).
We have already awarded the top students in each tested language Olympic Park
day passes, courtesy of British Airways, back in September. In addition to
this, we will also receive a glass award and £100. Well done to all the
students and staff involved.
